Jon Vickers Scoring Award: Grass
The Jon Vicker’s Scoring Award is a commission for a student in the composition department here at Jacobs to compose a score for a silent film. This year the film was GRASS: A Nation’s Battle for Life. The score featured a 15 musician orchestra that we recorded over two weekends, and concluded with a livestream performance of the entire 62 minute film. This here is a snippet of the entire film yet to come.
The Barn Cats
Grace Leckey and I have been bandmates now for most of college in a band called GraceKellie, so it was a pleasure to be on the other side of the recording console for this project, where I recorded her folk band, The Barn Cats.
Emma Walsh
Emma is a percussion major at Jacobs school of music, and it was my pleasure to be able to record this amazing song with her, featuring marimba, vibraphone, acoustic guitar, upright bass, and toms.
Jeremy Allen and Friends

Jeremy Allen is the current Dean at the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington. This chord-less quartet features Jeremy Allen on bass, Sean Dobbins on drums, Greg Ward on alto Saxophone, and John Raymond on trumpet.
